Ayurveda Oil Massage
Ayurveda, the traditional system of medicine that originated in India, places a strong emphasis on holistic health and well-being. Ayurvedic oil massage, also known as Abhyanga, is a key component of Ayurvedic self-care practices. It involves the application of warm, herbal oils to the body in a specific manner to promote physical, mental, and emotional balance.
Ayurvedic oils used in massage are often infused with a variety of herbs and botanicals, selected based on an individual's constitution (dosha), specific health concerns, and the season. Common oils include sesame oil, coconut oil, almond oil, and herbal oils like Brahmi oil, Ashwagandha oil, or Bhringraj oil. The oil used in Ayurvedic massage is typically warmed before application. This enhances the absorption of the oil into the skin and promotes relaxation.
